Frequently Asked Questions
As a Counselling Professional, asking the right questions is very important. Below you will find a compilation of the most common questions I’ve been asked about counselling and the services I provide. If you still have questions after reading through the FAQs, please give me a call or send me an email, and I will get back to you as soon as I can.
What can I expect?
Our first session will be an intake session where we will get to know each other. Sessions are 60 minutes long, with the exception of your first session which may take up to 90 minutes to account for paperwork. You will have an opportunity to share your story and background in the first session, as well as highlight the main issue(s) of concern and together we will establish your goals for therapy.
Can I book an Intake Session?
Please e-mail me at or call at 416.268.5063 to schedule your first session.
What are your fees? Will my insurance cover it?
The cost of one session is $100.00 (for a 60 minute session).
My services may be covered by insurance under psychological services or counselling. Please check with your insurance provider directly to determine your eligibility for coverage. I do not offer direct billing at this time, however I do provide counselling invoices to submit to your insurance.
I accept credit card, cash and e-transfers at this time.
I also offer a sliding scale for those without insurance coverage. Please inquire about fees for your specific circumstance.
How will I know if therapy is the right fit for me?
I believe that therapy is right for everybody! Studies have shown that the fit between the client and the therapist is very important for successful therapy. This is why our intake session together will be so important to establish our relationship but also for you to evaluate if I am the right fit for you. I believe the initial consultation is of paramount importance to your therapeutic experience.
We all have different styles and personalities, which is why I put careful attention into getting to know you and ensuring you have the best possible therapeutic experience.
I work 9am-5pm can I come after work hours?
Yes, I recognize that schedules can be complicated! There are several evening time slots available if you are unable to make a daytime appointment. I also offer sessions on Saturday and Sunday.
Where are you located?
I am located at 1556 Regional Hwy. 2, on the North-East corner of the intersection of Hwy. 2 and Prestonvale. It is the white house that is shared with the offices of Dr. Connie Tang Optometry.
Enter on the left hand door on the front of the house, go up the stairs, and make yourself comfortable in the waiting room, where tea and water are provided.
